USB Converters
A USB converter is a cable with a USB connector on one end and a plug on the other end that allows you to connect your existing (usually older) device.
Adaptors are another name for converters. With USB being the de facto standard for linking devices to computers, a slew of new advancements have emerged to provide interfaces for earlier protocols.
For just about every other form of connection, we now have a USB converter in stock. USB converters come in a variety of designs.
Some allow direct connection of devices to a PC via USB cable, while others simply adapt a standard PC cable to the USB format. Some converters are bi-directional, allowing a device to be connected or disconnected while a computer is powered on.
If you have electronic devices that need to be plugged into a computer, you have to find the right type of USB converter. Some devices, such as digital cameras, come with built-in USB ports.
However, these ports aren't ideal for connecting external devices. If you plug one of these devices into your computer, your computer will not recognise it.
Instead, it might be recognised as a generic "USB" device. These switchers and converters are exactly what you need.
There are different kinds of converters available, so it's worth doing some research before purchasing one. Some converters let you connect multiple devices to a single port on your computer and charge them all at the same time.
Other converters separate devices into different ports, meaning that you have to connect them one at a time.
